The Kentucky Watercolor Society was founded in 1977 to promote watercolor painting in Kentucky. Through education
and exhibitions, it serves both professional and beginning artists, collectors, and others who enjoy fine art. KWS is a
natinally recognized, non-profit organization with a membership of more than 350 artists, over one third from other states.
KWS sponsors painting exhibitions, workshops, seminars and a quarterly Newsletter. It depends upon membership dues and
contributions to support its mission, as well as volunteers who take an active role in the society.
We welcome new members and any level of expertise is more than enough. We learn from each other and have fun just
enjoy all the friendship that is made learning new techniques and progress in what we love and that is painting in water
based painting. Age makes absolutely no difference. We never get to old to learn and enjoy painting.
We always have some kind of classes going on. There are workshops throughout the year. Also, you can come to the
Gallery and paint with various groups, just call 502-326-9256 and check what is going on. Go to the Contact KWS page to
get directions to various locations. We, also, have En Plein Air (painting on location) contact Connie Kuhn 502.386.5454.
